i tried to open a link to an article about gaming, now opera is completely broken, tried uninstalling the app, didn't work, cleared everything, didn't work, restarted the phone, didn't work, i have no idea what broke but i literally cannot use the browser on my phone at all now
- android 16
- google pixel 8 pro 256gb
- version 92.0.4866.85599
- don't have the link that caused it and cant even check cause i can't access the browser
- data savings is off
- here's a link to a video of the problem https://youtube.com/shorts/smzDX_j4pLQ?feature=share
- tried to open a google news link from the feature on my pixel 8 pro, it tried to load then just stopped, i closed the browser and reopened to try and get it to maybe refresh and now the browser just doesn't work, I've reinstalled the app, cleared cache, restarted the phone, the only thing i haven't done is reset the phone which I'm not doing
- expected behavior is that the app works, which it currently doesn't

Guys I have exactly same problem like you, except on Google Pixel 9 pro 512,same android build and opera version. Withou sync, working properly. After signing into sync, Opera immediately crashes.

@stateofreality downgrading to previous version did the trick. Sync working without issues. I won't update, till this be fixed.

- Download older version of Opera from their site
https://get.opera.com/pub/opera/android/9100/Opera_91_6_4817_85486_Generic_Opera_arm8_LZMA.apk - You have to turn off settings in your phone, if they are activated. Settings/Security and privacy/advanced protection - turn off device and account protection, otherwise you won't be able to install it manualy. These settings are preventing installation of applications outside of google play store. Account protecton disabling can take up to 24 hours according to Google information. If you have not turned these features on, you can install that downloaded opera apk immediately.
- Don't update until you know issue was fixed.
- Sign into your account for syncing and enjoy.
- Turn back on advanced protection settings if enabled before.
Hope this will help you. It worked for me.

@stateofreality after even further testing, the issue seems to be with sync, because if i login but don't sync it works fine, literally the moment i sync the app freezes and crashes and then just won't work, but if i don't sync it's still perfectly fine

@stateofreality
Have a look at this page. Before downgrade I did what they suggest on this pagehttps://forums.opera.com/topic/20590/how-do-i-reset-my-passphrase

@gak79 already tried that, ended up needing to when i first reinstalled the app, that didn't help, also, i read the thing for downgrading and ill just use the app partially logged in until its fixed, im not doing all that
