Opera quick bar/ bookmark bar will not enable along with everything else bookmark related

I am trying to switch to Opera but the lack of bookmarks makes it incredibly difficult, googling around I found out about going to Opera://flags and searching for and enabling the quick bar/bookmarks bar there but after restarting opera it still will not show. All the guides on how to do that are out of date and refer to a bookmarks toolbar under settings or from the opera drop down in the top left.
Even the More Tools -> Bookmark importer button has been greyed out!
What does opera have against bookmarks?

I have full Bookmarks, there have been many threads on how to do the bookmarks, I'd rather you look for them than me having to repeat myself on the many threads that have to do with this subject.

From what browser are you coming from. As leocg said, remember to enable the bookmark bar in Settings/Browser/User Interface. To go to settings, you can do it with an Alt p, (or by clicking on the Opera menu (top left of the browser), and then on settings).
Here's a thread that discusses how to import.

Opera has nothing against bookmarks. You can do voluminous bookmarking in Opera 20. So be of good cheer.

I did not see the setting under Settings/Browser/User Interface since none of the guides told me about that, I guess they were all outdated. Doing that and following this: https://forums.opera.com/post/37721 worked for me, but what a mess in looking for this information online!
Thanks for the help lem729 and leocg

Thanks for the note. I can understand your frustration, rheves. The search engine for the forum needs a lot of work
