I'm trying to delete a windows user that I don't need anymore to save space on my drive, but I can't because Opera GX is installed in that user. How can I move the install location over to another user?

@Nav-Null To another user? You won't be able to use the original user's data (logins, sessions, history, cookies) since they are encrypted to the user account, so you might as well just delete the old install and make a new one.

@Nav-Null Synchronization may help getting part of the data.

@sgunhouse Even if the cache and profile is already on the disk I want to move my installation to?

@Nav-Null If you used it as the other user, it'll be unreadable. If you used it as your current user (the one you're keeping) then it'll be fine with a new install.

@Nav-Null Enable synchronization, give it enough time to synchronize your data.
Then enable Sync in the new user and check if data was synced and which data.

@Nav-Null Do you already use Opera with the user you are keeping?

@leocg I'm assuming you're asking if my cache and opera userdata is on my current windows user, to which I say yes.

@Nav-Null That I already knew, I was asking about the installation directory.

@leocg In that case no, which is why I made this post.

@Nav-Null And how are you using Opera in the current user if it was installed for another user? Probably Opera was installed for all users, wasn't it?

@leocg The new user didn't even exist when I installed the browser, but when I open the "about opera" page it tells me the cache and profile is stored in my current one and the installation is stored in the old one for some reason.

@Nav-Null That's kinda strange. when you install Opera, you choose to do it for current user only or to all users.
If you choose to install it for current user only, Opera usually installs to C:/Users/< username>/AppData/ ....
If you install it for all users, it usually installs in C:/Program Files

Anyway, just reinstall Opera for the current user.
