im not using linux, but i notice with opera every time I choose force dark themes on websites, this white strips appear on youtube videos and other web videos when they go into full screen, all i did was turn this option of and it sorted it for me.
Sorry if its late, but if it helps.

@hammersutd1983 nope youre on time its still there. You know it is so much time has passed... For a long of those years... My country is now struggling against russian aggression. It is has passed over 2 years, even bug tracker ticket got. But for over 2 years this bug is living in opera on linux. You know... Even my company, I'm working for, it is has banned opera. I'm tired of waiting for this bug to be solved.

Bloody hell I was looking it up as I just noticed this recently myself. I know this is for Linux, but it's also happening on Windows too.

@hungryhungryhippos I have never seen white strip in Opera on different Windows systems (Win7, Win10, Win11). It is only Linux feature or bug. Other browsers (Chrome, Firefox) don't show this white strip.

Got the same issue running windows 10, newest opera update and only when watching videos through opera such as youtube.
White vertical line follows position of curser until curser passes border of video frame then remains at which ever side the curser was last at. one occasion I used hmdi output to tv and when i moved the curser to second screen the white line jumped from the edge of the video frame to the center of video frame until curser was brought back on to the same monitor screen that the video was playing on..
Any ideas yet how to fix?

@inequitas A vertical line that follows the cursor is a demo, one side is supposed to be enhanced while the other is not. Personally I didn't think that even worked on Linux. However, there should also be a button over the video and clicking that should turn it off.

@sgunhouse Thank you, I found the button, a gray button top center of video screen with three stars, button turns blue when activated, when you hover over button another pops up on right hand side of that button which looks like a line through the center of a screen... Much appreciated... Thanks for taking the time to post the answer that's helped me with this white line through the videos I've been watching..

@inequitas
OK thanks.
It is located in the “video optimization” and can be switched off there. It's nice how Opera is desperately trying to get rid of long-term users. Everything was OK with Win-Edge :-c. -
