UTF-8 and opera on Android = chaos

When I surf on a ge encoded in french with utf-8, some words are odd.

As an example : Pour une raison que j'ignore, ça donne

quote.....
Ancrages identitaires de la Croix Rouge
de lâ€inspiration confessionnelle à lâ€universalità humanitaire
.....unquote

Alors que, sous Firefox, le texte donne

quote.....
Ancrages identitaires de la Croix Rouge
de l’inspiration confessionnelle à l’universalité humanitaire
.....unquote

Le texte est correctement encodé mais Opera ne comprend pas...

Un indice ? Une aide, un conseil ?

@smajira The website is in one of the old 8-bit Windows encodings rather than UTF but someone posted in UTF anyway. Non-ASCII characters (in this case, smart quotes) require several bytes in UTF, but Windows encoding reads each byte as a separate character. (I see this often on Slashdot.)
