@ronbo2024 You mean the horizontal line that follows after default speed dial tiles? If yes, this an intended (bad) change.

@andrew84 thanks for the response and the links. I find that Opera support (one that responded) suggested to just turn off auto update. I don't see how that resolves the issue since not getting updates for a browser can expose one to malware sites causing a more critical issue.

@ronbo2024 You've got smth. wrong. As a workaround, there was suggested to remove the speed dials (which are default predefined tiles) above the line. And then recreate them again (if you really need them). So the line disappears.

@ronbo2024 @andrew84
So once more please, what exactly "solve" the issue. Delete the advertising speed dials above the line? Or deleting all my speed dials on the start page?
And what happens when these advertising items re-appear again, are they not on top of all my own speed dials again? -

I don't know. You'll see if it'll happen.

Turns out that I ended deleting 100% of the speed dials.
I understood this, that ronbo had to delete all of his speed dials, but hope he wanted to say that he stopped doing this.
@andrew84 how long is it that you have deleted the ads items?

@cska133 Just delete all. You can add the ones you deleted manually. However one annoying thing is that Opera can update the home page later with one or more short cuts. Has not happened to me yet but I believe that would happen on later updates. Nothing you can do as the software is free. So just keep deleting the ones you did not create.

@ronbo2024 well, before Verion 80 these ads items recreat them but they stayed behind my own speed dials at the bottom of the home page. So i never took care of them, i never deleted them because they were at the bottom.
But now Opera decides to force its preinstalled ads by placing them On Top... and this is a Flop -

@ronbo2024 i know i can delete them but when they re-create they will be placed on top again. I dont see why not

@ronbo2024 ok, but what i can see from the screenshot are 2 ads items. I dont understand what you want to show with the screenshot

@ronbo2024 ah these are your own speed dials, ok.
But still, when the ads re-create i am pretty sure that the diverder line with ads will appear above your own speed dials. How long is it that you have deleted the ads? -

i dont know what kind of updates you mind. These ads have nothing to do with updates, they are periodically pushed in by Opera. In which period i dont know, but sure we have to wait 30 days after, so 15 days more for you.
Anyway please write here back when these ads re-create and how the home page look after that -

@cska133 Will do. Just to let you know, when I reported this, the version I had was 80.1.4244.77335. They have since sent version 80.2.4244.77484 and the version 80.3.4244.77596 as of Feb 8, 2024. Each of those added a shortcut for Walmart Business banner link. Which as you stated can show up as well even without the software release updates. I clicked the 'x' on the upper right corner of that advertisement and it's gone until the next push. In both cases no line was generated between my custom shortcut and the advertisement shortcut banner. I will take a screenshot next time it shows up and post it here.

@cska133 That is interesting as I don't run into a similar issue you stated. I will try to paste a sceenshot here but the image option seems to be a link (not sure). Here is my screenshot:

One common solution is to try clearing your browser cache and cookies. If that doesn't work, you might want to check if there are any browser extensions or themes causing conflicts. Additionally, ensuring that your browser is up to date could also help resolve the issue.
