Can't connect to local avahi URLs

I have a server running on my local network. I can get to the web page by specifying the ip address (e.g. http://10.0.0.101), However the server is also running avahi daemon, so it is broadcasting to my network a hostname (e.g. server.local)
In Google Chrome, I can open the web page by going to the avahi addres (e.g. http://server.local), however when I try to open the same URL in my opera browser, I get ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. This is obviously an opera problem because Linux can get to the server using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, SSH, Ping, etc. It's only blocked in OPERA.
Can someone help me find the setting for this. This is a blocker for me adopting OPERA as my browser. If I can't browse to my local servers using their avahi .local address, I cannot use Opera at all. I will be grateful for any help.

@sgunhouse No, that's the first thing I did was disable the built-in VPN. As I said, going to the IP address works fine, but going to the avahi-enabled domain name doesn't work in opera.

@cschalk Hmm ... can't think of anything else. If you don't get any helpful suggestions try filing a bug report at https://opera.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/9

@sgunhouse I tried to create a bug report, but the captcha seems broken. I answered the questions exactly and it still says I can't insert the bug. Here's my research:
I have a local server inside my local network (intranet). The server is running avahi-daemon, and using mdns broadcasts its hostname to the local network (e.g. server.local). This server is running a website on port 80.
In Opera, if I go to the URL using the IP Address, the website loads properly (e.g. http://10.0.0.100/)
In Opera, if I try to use the mdns name in the URL, I get an error: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED (e.g. http://server.local/)
This is only a problem with my Opera installation. Google Chrome, Ping, SSH, Firefox and all other tools on my computer can find the server by its mdns .local name.
I have the Opera built-in VPN turned off, and I have “DNS over HTTPS” disabled.
It does work on Mac OS (Monterey 12.7.2) with Opera version 106.0.4998.52 (however the vpn “Bypass VPN for local intranet sites” doesn’t recognize .local addresses as local, so I had to manually turn off the built-in VPN)
it does work on Windows 11 with Opera version 106.0.4998.52
It does work on my android device with Opera 79.6.4195.77168 for Android
It appears to only Not work on my Linux (Ubuntu 22.04) with Opera version 106.0.4998.52
