I'm really trying to use Opera 20, but really need ONE FEATURE that was in Opera 12: Notes

Thanks for the help, pesala! I wasn't aware that we could search for extensions like that. Usually, I just shout to the PC and wait for an answer. /sarcastic mode off
If you don't want to help or don't know any solution, please do not write anything. I think it's obvious that I already done that and that there is no official extension that do what I need.

And "I think it's obvious that" you are one of the !@#$heads that continue to infest this forum. It's hard to believe that the new forum could be any more f'ed up than the previous one, but between Opera ASA's mishandling of things and the seemingly endless number of twisted, dysfunctional Presto fans who choose to post here, that's what's happened.

Why are you insulting me? Are you mentally challanged? I'm no Presto fan, I already said that I'm using 20 and I think my question is pretty normal. The first answer that I got was not normal, so I answered back.
So if I want to know if I can have a feature in 20 that is very important to me, I'm a "twisted, dysfunctional Presto fan"? Calm down, man!
So, is there a way to have context menu notes in 20? Yes or No?

You deserved fluxrev's comment. There are people in the forum who really try to help. Pesala is one of them. And I mean, who help a lot of people. The way you answered him was really nasty. Then you have the NERVE to suggest fluxrev is menatally challenged. Grow up! You need to look at yourself. Show a little decency when someone tries to help you. Or maybe just say you're sorry.
As to the context menu issue, you would have to try the different Opera notes extensions (even check the Chrome store) (as we can use Chrome extensions too) to see if one gives you the context menu feauture. I have Control ++. It's not as satisfactory to me as the old Opera notes function. You can click on a toolbar button to open it, then click on your note to open it, then select the note, copy it, and paste it using the mouse. It would seem you could have your 8 or 9 lines in the note, and cut and paste them into what you are working on that way. Obviously a qicker way to do it would be better.

@tntnt You asked in your first post:
Is there an extension, hack, anything?
So, why should anyone assume that you had already searched for extensions?
Had you said, “I tried all of the extensions, but none of them do what I need,” then I would have given a different answer.
You're surely mental challenged to retort with the rude comments that you did. What kind of forum do you moderate? One for War games?

I haven't tried this, but would it be possible to use Linkednotes from Chrome extensions?

Why are you insulting me?
Your baseless, gratuitously insulting and supercilious reply to pesala, that's why.
I'm no Presto fan
Your post concerned the absence of the Presto Notes feature. If you say you're not a Presto fan, OK, maybe you're not, but that's the only point I'm going to concede here, and it's of no consequence as far as my main point goes.
The first answer that I got was not normal, so I answered back.
Pesala's answer was obviously and completely normal, and to claim otherwise as a defense is ridiculous.
So if I want to know if I can have a feature in 20 that is very important to me, I'm a "twisted, dysfunctional Presto fan"?
A straw man argument. I neither said nor implied that. It was your reply to pesala that earned that description.

I'm sorry If I sounded rude, but I'm in a bad place right now...
I'm not a noob, so pesala's answer seemed like "read the fkn manual" and that he was mocking me, as opera extensions are common knowledge and always the first place to search.
And this triggered this all situation. So, why should anyone assume that you had already searched for extensions?
Yes, I give you that. I should have explained that, instead of assuming that it was obvious. Sorry once againg.
Then you have the NERVE to suggest fluxrev is menatally challenged.
Only did that because he insulted me! and gave no help at all. But I take that comment back, and I would like if fluxrev did the same, no hard feelings. But "!@#$head,twisted and dysfunctional" are mean words.
Control ++ is good, but takes too many steps.
I haven't tried this, but would it be possible to use Linkednotes from Chrome extensions?
Tried it and it works the way I wanted. Thank you very much, leushino. I tought that LinkedNotes did something different, but it also do that simple thing.
So this topic may be of use for those who are in the fence to change because of notes.

I gave no help because I don't use extensions, there are no relevant hacks that I'm aware of, and so I had no help to offer.
But I take that comment back, and I would like if fluxrev did the same, no hard feelings.
Consider it done; no hard feelings here. If you're familiar with the history of this forum (and it's predecessor) over the last year, you might have some understanding for the sharpness of my reply. There have been and continue to be a significant number of deliberately obnoxious, gratuitously hostile, and irrational posts. In any event, I should have taken into consideration the possibility that you might have misinterpreted pesala's post, and responded to you in a more temperate manner.

I already started converting Smart Clipboard as a Chromium extension, but lost interest somewhere on the way.
Would that be an adequate replacement for Notes for you? -

So we are all good!
So far i'm using 20 and it's a good browser (with extensions). But still have 12 installed, just in case.
I can understand if some people do not like the fact that many of the features that made Opera unique are not in this new version. But I know that the regular posters and helpers create a self defense mechanism against those obnoxious and hostile posts that some of those "presto fans" open.
I believe that if the dev team implement all those small but important features from 12 in this great 20, we would have a perfect (and still unique) browser.

Would that be an adequate replacement for Notes for you?I just found LinkedNotes, thanks to leushino. And all I really wanted as a righ click easy access.

Or if someone were to write an extension that actually gave you text to insert from the context menu - all the "note" extensions in Pesala's search lack that, and it is the one you asked for. Though most "Notes" features are for saving content from web pages (as in, OneNote, EverNote, etc.) and not for having readily available content to paste into forms.
The closest extension I can find is one called AutoComplete, and that really isn't even close. No results searching for stationary or letterhead (a similar concept anyway) ...

I'm glad that this has been aired out. When people aren't physically present, all they have are words to represent them. It's very easy to use a wrong tone, not redeemed or saved by a facial expression. If we keep the forum civil, it would be a huge plus. In the past (the glory days of Opera), the forum was great and there was less of the flaming and rudeness. This time, it was unintentional, but unintentional or intentional, the tone of words can be a problem. And some of the words and tone in recent posts have been so bad this will drive good people (who constantly help others) from using the forum. At that point, we get little or no help, and everything goes downhill
Returning to this notes issue for a minute, what I liked about the old Opera notes function was that when you made a note for a web page, it automatically saved the link, and so if you went back to your note, you could click on what you saved , and were immediately taken right to the web page.
I'm not overwhelmed with Control ++ (the one extension I have on notes) where I have to copy and paste the web page. I may look at more, but from reading them, they don't seem to do what I want. If anyone has experience with a notes extension, where when you enter a note on a web page the link is saved automatically as part of that process -- for reopening of the link by simply a click on it, please post that extension and let others know. Also with that old Notes function, you could create folders to organize your notes.
I still lament not having the type of Notes function we had with Opera Presto, am not aware of an extension to fill fill the need for me that the Opera Presto notes function very adequately met.

A big +1 !
It's so nice to see a thread brought back from the brink of a potential flame war. Well handled, folks...!

Linked notes would be awesome!
So even in this thread there is no solution for having old notes?
