How can I set the bar up top with file, edit, bookmarks, ?
I just installed opera 20 on windows 7

I had it with the previous version of opera. why not with this one

It hasn't been introduced yet (and it remains to be seen whether it "will" be brought back). The new Opera is a complete re-write from scratch so not all of the features of the former Presto versions are available.

Even in Opera 12, the default was the menu button in the corner ... everyone seems to be going that way.

I know that was the default but I want to be able to set them back or I might have to change browser. Can I download a older version of opera in the meantime?

Yep!, You most certainly can, knock yourself out.

EDIT: You may want to try 12.14 as it seems to be more stable, more site compatible than the latest 12.16. And it allows you the ability to change the default search engine to anything you wish, unlike 12.16 which only allows any of the provided search engines to be made the default.

But you are free to choose whichever version of Opera you wish to use. Obviously taking security risks and vulnerabilities into consideration.
