Hello!

We've been waiting from May... could you look into it?

We are waiting for almost 2 months now to get our browser extension moderated.
The management panel says that this is ongoing, but despite writing in the conversation tab or releasing new versions (to hopefully retrigger some kind of action from the Opera team) nothing happens.

Does anybody know what's up?

Friends, the time has come. Our users have waited 6 long, arduous months to see the light of moderation. That's nearly enough time to birth a human child!

Hey @leocg @sgunhouse @amatczak - I'm not sure who's best to tag here, but you all seem to be active and well-respected members of this forum.

I see that @tprockow offered a small update back in 2018.

This is a massive thread with so many dedicated developers who have no doubt spent hundreds of hours developing, testing and preparing extensions for Opera that drive new users for you, and make the overall platform better.

Rather than just forwarding dedicated developers here to capitulate about the fact the review process appears to be stalled, please let us, the community, help you to make this process of submitting and reviewing work better and more transparent. Just like we improve and work on code in open source projects, everyone in this thread has a collectively massive amount of experience to assist.

This is not a complaint - it is an offer to help, whatever you need to make the submission and review process more transparent and timely.

For many of us who also submit code for review in other ecosystems with stringent criteria (i.e. App Store Connect), we know the hoops and hurdles - but even then, we're used to getting a review within 36 hours.

If it's a resourcing issue, then let's figure out a way to get more of the community involved and build some kind of open source peer review system. If it's something else that's blocking the review pipeline (or perhaps add-ons aren't part of Opera's broader future strategy?), then please let us all know so people aren't waiting months with no feedback.

@limpkin Can't help with moderation, but does the one at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mooltipass-extension/ffemldjbbfhimggdkkckolidemlllklk not work right in Opera?

Opera users are expected to use the Chrome Web Store for extensions except for sidebar extensions for example.

My extension called Web Edit is taking 7+ days to get approved with it seeming to never getting approved.

Status has changed for Web Edit

Web Edit v1.0.1 on Opera Next: Published.

Your extension needs to be manually reviewed and moderated before it can be added to Opera Stable. It is currently only viewable and available for download in Opera Developer and Opera Beta.

I submitted one addon on November 27, and it's still pending without any response. This situation seems to be recurring for others as well. Despite submitting two more addons, there's been no progress or response. Could anyone provide assistance in resolving this issue? I'm concerned about the lack of approval and response from the team.
