After months of waiting, we got the speed dial button back and now another stupid problem appeared!
I updated to 103.0.4928.16 and the clicking animation in speed dial is suddenly so slooow! I enabled "Reduce animations" but still nothing. Anyone has the same issue?

Yes, others have noticed it too.

There's also some tiles appearing effect is added when creating new tab.
And also there's delay before 'Edit' button appearing in the tile's right upper corner.
I also keep the 'reduce animations' toggle switched on.

@andrew84 Sorry, this refers to Dev version. In Stable there's no such animation.
But I noticed there's no 'Adjust Speed Dial animations for slower hardware' toggle in Settings comparing to the pre-One version here.

@andrew84 I don't think that the issue is about slow hardware. It's that you have to wait for the animation to end to do the next click.

@ghadhika the animation is not slow then, most probably it's by design.

I've found the following in the 103's changelog

DNA-111168 Animation on hover and click of tiles

And another one 'cheap' animation in 104 Developer I mentioned above most probably waiting you in 104 Stable.

DNA-111167 Animation of tiles appearing when tab is opened

*I meant that maybe 'Adjust Speed Dial animations for slower hardware' toggle is now replaced by 'reduce animation' but the 'reducing' doesn't work.

@andrew84 Yes, you are right, I probably didn't express myself correctly. But still, it doesn't seem like something that was done on purpose. The animation is fine, but to have to wait for every little animation to end to make another click, especially in Speed Dial, is ridiculous.

@ghadhika Just to clarify, you mean the animation when a clicked tile visually decreases first and then enlarges again before page opening?
If yes, I can't say that this is very slow. The animation is slower but I don't have time to click somewhere else, the animation takes less than a second here. It just looks weird comparing to previous behavior, I prefer when page opens right after the click.

@andrew84 Yes, that's the animation I'm referring to. It may takes just a second, but that second pretty much revokes the "speed" from the dial! During the last couple of days that I use it, I have accidentally pressed "open all in new tabs" at least a couple of times because I immediately clicked the tile I wanted while the animation kept me still on the tile folder.

@ghadhika As a workaround you can press mouse wheel to open tiles or tile folders, no animation in this case.
I don't think they'll consider the animation as an issue, but maybe they'll include the behavior into 'reduce animation' toggle.

As I mentioned above, in 104 (which is Beta already) version they've implemented one more animation (in addition). You have to wait for a while before tiles appearing when you open speed dial page or speed dial tiles folder and this is even more annoying than the animation discussed in this topic because if you have enough tileа it takes more than a second to all the tiles appear.
So it'll be double delay soon in Stable (when tiles appearing and when you click tiles) if they won't include the both animations under 'reduce animations' toggle.

Fast Speed Dial was one of the main reasons to use Opera. Now it's much slower because of the animation. No matter, if I left- or middle-click.
