      @athosdewitt I would give you money for your solution, fix it at least, 🙏 to opera team... wth are u thinking about? no one cares!, this is spoused to be a software, if I click on your software, it just opens and stays quiet there, I was this close to uninstall it 🤦
      the only thing that keeps me here is the vpn, but I'm 1 notification away of going back to chrome or something idk

        Thanks for the tip. Works like a charm. Just another useless "feature" added while useful features like restoring the ability to close individual tabs goes unfulfilled (MS Surface Pro Tablet User). I have been an Opera user for I guess 6 or more years and each version since 99 has been worse than the previous version.

            @lobster666 I have the same problem. Even a new letter opens with the logo and the sound of the Opera. It's annoying. Can we solve it?

                Why do they have this so extremely stupid logo and sound? How can we get rid of this nonsense?

                      Good news! The browser updated to the version... ...46, and...you won't believe! The problem didn't appear itself, no splashscreen and sound! Though the file splash...exe still presents in the installation folder, but I didn't delete it, and...everything's fine!

                        According to the latest Dev build's changelog the splash screen will be shown only on major versions update.

                              @proshor Has been removed but the outdated instructions are copy pasted over and over. Why @Zandocarl copy pasterd an instruction which doesn't work is beyond me. He says it himself:

                              Another way is this, but I tried and it didn't work

                              It just confuses those who miss the didn't work part.

                                @andrew84 What is said in the notes and what actually happens are often not the same.

                                  @andrew84 No way I can understand, why is it needed to show it at all? It overloads laptop dynamics, beats on the ears, delays opening, frightens cat and so on.... I ask to make the sound quieter, to lower the volume,

                                    @proshor I don't know. After updating Developer I also got this welcome page> https://www.opera.com/client/upgraded-dev.
                                    So the welcome page is more than enough to notify user about update (It also would be good to add some links on this page, the links could point to blog post and changelog).

                                            @tentiuzyou I second the motion, the opera one opening sequence is loud and i get up early., and the sound is loud enough to wake my whole house, (and frightens my mom with alzeimer. I use opera as my main browser for my work and daily projects. I love using opera but i can't disrupt the delicate balance of my home. I am not a gamer and was fine with the old opera, wonder if can i regress back to the original? or is there an option to silence the opening sequence on OperaOne? I don't want to shop for and set up a new browser..
