I was able to disable the mute button with a flag setting after it appeared with an update like 3 months ago. Can't seem to find that option now, has it been removed?

@distressed-opera-user Yes, flags are removed once they are enabled by default om stable channel.

@leocg It is a straight downgrade for some people, especially those with many tabs open at once. I've also experienced no issues with the old icon, so it's especially annoying that it's gone.

@distressed-opera-user To help those who have difficulties in closing tabs and always need to have a lot of them opened, Opera introduced Workspaces, not to mention that there are windows too.
And, of course, the sound indicator messing up with the X button is probably a bug that they will probably fix at some point.

@leocg I wouldn't be so sure man, I saw a post about this exact same issue back on 2016... 2016!!

Option to disable muting would be very useful. I mostly click the mute button by accident, and almost never use it intentionally.

This is probably one of these things when someone who does nothing made for show, everyone gave him a bravo, lots of pats in the back, everyone congratulated him, and thee end product is just something annoying for every user.

Well it certainly starting to look that way, and now it is too late to admit the mistake?
But please make it optional.

By the way, it seems impossible to unmute very condensed tab with this idiotic mute button/option.
