Will Aria be available on iOS?

It would be great if I can use Aria on all my devices.

@little-yellow-duck As of my knowledge Aria is not a specific software or application. It is a term used in the context of web accessibility to refer to attributes and properties that help make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. These attributes can be applied to HTML elements to provide additional information to assistive technologies.

Since Aria is not a standalone application or software, its availability is not platform-specific. The use of Aria attributes and properties depends on the web development practices and the capabilities of the browsers or assistive technologies being used.

Regarding iOS devices, such as iPhones and iPads, they do support the use of Aria attributes and properties. iOS has built-in support for web accessibility features and provides compatibility with Aria for developers to create accessible web content. However, the specific behavior and support for Aria attributes may vary depending on the version of iOS and the browser being used.

To ensure the best accessibility experience on iOS devices, it is recommended to follow web accessibility guidelines and standards, including the proper use of Aria attributes, semantic HTML markup, and testing your web content on iOS devices with different assistive technologies and browsers.

@gurrubhai Yes. Maybe I should ask that will Aria be available on Opera for iOS?

@vassi That probably depends on when Apple will allow Opera to offer a full browser on iOS instead of a shell for Safari.

@sgunhouse But there are other browsers on iOS, like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc, I don't think they are shells of Safari.

@little-yellow-duck Some European countries will be forcing Apple to allow alternative browsers later this year, it isn't clear yet whether Apple will only do so in those countries or everywhere. Until then, every browser on iOS has been required to use the Webkit engine from Safari.

Absolutely! The convenience of having Aria available on iOS would undoubtedly enhance the user experience, allowing seamless access across all your devices. Here's to hoping for a smooth and swift rollout on iOS, making Aria an even more versatile and accessible tool for you 😀!

Yes. I have Opera on my iPad and I was able to use Aria nicely. It was offered to me and i used it. It was a little slow and laggy, but overall a good experience
