[Solved]Disabling splash screen & changelog after an update

I'm fine with having auto-updates on, but I don't want my browsing experience interrupted every time there's been an update. I want to open the browser and just use it.
Instead, after an update I get a little splash screen, a jingle plays, and the browser opens a tab telling me all about the latest update. Is there any way to turn that off?

Agreed. Would love to be able to turn this off. I'm even fine with the changelog tab, but the splash screen is very obtrusive

@braken121 That's already switched off. That setting is for the splash screen to display every time, but it seems to have no effect on launching after an update.

@waggers5 i researched some more on some other posts. Its not possible to make it not happen after an update. Sorry for the bad news. Although you could request for this to not happen.

@braken121 Not a bug, it was designed to work that way.

https://www.google.com/search?q=prevent+specific+exe+from+running might help to block any
opera_gx_splash.exe
from running. Something to investigate at least. -

@leocg I call it a bug, since nobody would want such nuisance startup sound

@kikonen A bug is when something doesn't work as should, as it was designed to work.

@kikonen I can still see it in Opera GX installation directory.

Hello!
From the directory where Opera is installed (eg: c:\Program Files\Opera\101.0.4843.25) - delete the file: opera_gx_splash.exe
After deleting the splash screen does not appear

Suggestions of go to Opera://flags and you end up in Experiments table to disable the splash screen don't work.
Correct method: find the opera files location by right clicking the Opera icon and click on file location...… find your last instalment of programme in folder something like 102.0.488.....open that and scroll to splash gx. exe …delete this.
It should work -

@leocg If it's designed to be annoying, then correct it's not a bug.

@cmspencer It's designed to show up when there is an update, and that's what it does.

@cmspencer
It's just a pity that it doesn't appear once... just over and over and over again. It would be nice to be able for the user to decide for themselves...
