https://www.google.com/search?q=prevent+specific+exe+from+running might help to block any
opera_gx_splash.exe
from running. Something to investigate at least. -

Hello!
From the directory where Opera is installed (eg: c:\Program Files\Opera\101.0.4843.25) - delete the file: opera_gx_splash.exe
After deleting the splash screen does not appear

Suggestions of go to Opera://flags and you end up in Experiments table to disable the splash screen don't work.
Correct method: find the opera files location by right clicking the Opera icon and click on file location...… find your last instalment of programme in folder something like 102.0.488.....open that and scroll to splash gx. exe …delete this.
It should work -

@cmspencer It's designed to show up when there is an update, and that's what it does.

@cmspencer
It's just a pity that it doesn't appear once... just over and over and over again. It would be nice to be able for the user to decide for themselves... -

@tharonsik Dunno, someone in Opera is considering that having satisfied users is bad thing, must do anything to alienate users.

@akhenaton Would'tn it just be reinstalled after next update? --- which is kind of the problem in the first place, as the options support turning off for other startups than the first after a new update...

Found file opera_gx_splash.off in older version folder. Put it into newer version and splash gone

And now instead of allowing us to disable it...Eric Andre yells at you. Wonderful.

Time to disable auto update until this yelling piece-of-garbage-design is gone.
I can live with the original sound. But not this. F this.
