Can anyone tell me how to set a passphrase for the opera synchronisation.
I installed opera on a laptop and wanted to sync with other PC and after resetting sync on the web site i go back into opera browser and try to enter a passphrase but it just tells me it is incorrect. I have only been trying opera for a couple of weeks and definitely not entered a passphrase previously, I do have a password for the opera account but it won't accept that. -

@nnnn19 Maybe you need to reset the passphrase before. You can do it in www.sync.opera.com

Could it have synced from the laptop that I have been trying to get to sync from the desktop? There were a few strange things going on for a while until I turned sync off on both of them.

Hello, I am trying to reset my passphrase as well. But all I see is some stupid video that does not give me the information I require.
So is there another way in which I can reset my passphrase?
Thanks.
This is what I see:

@cybagirlgaming It took me several attempts to get it working and I have had to turn it off now as all sorts of strange stuff was happening.
I did something like the following (I think), I hadn't set one before that but it seemed to think I had, go to https://www.sync.opera.com/ and click on Reset Passphrase then go to opera://settings/syncSetup in the browser and select 'data is encrypted with passphrase' in the encryption options at the bottom and it might (?) let you have another go. -

@nnnn19 hello and thank you for taking the time to get back to me. I tried what you said and it seems to be working now. Very strange though and I think that page with the video should be updated with a FAQ for others who are having the same issue.
Also I wish there was a way to do a full backup of Opera including all plugins etc like I can do with Firefox (just copying the directory) as it is such a pain to have to go and reinstall all the extensions again.
Nonetheless thanks for your help.
