Syncing Open Tabs 1499 tabs wth?

I only have 2 devices, and I'm logged into (Opera) on both devices. One is desktop, the other laptop. What I want to achieve is (I thought) fairly simple. I want to log onto the Desktop and browse the current open tabs on my Laptop, then choose which tabs that exist on my laptop to open on my desktop. When I do the Opera Synchronisation thing and see that it says 2 devices but its giving a whopping 1499 Open Tabs :S
When I click tabs I am seeing multiple entries for the Laptop one and many tabs that were open but are now since closed. I cannot fund the entry for the current tabs that I have open on my laptop...
Where did I go wrong? It's like the Opera Sync is holding onto every tab I opened on my Laptop since whenever and I don't want that, I just want to see current open tabs.
Cheers,
BB

@brucebanner There are other reports about opened tabs being multiplicated by Sync, as you should have seen when following the rules, so I guess we will need to wait for a fix.

I haven't played with syncing of opened tabs and the
opera://activity
page much until now. Here's what I see:On the
opera://activity
page, in the left-hand pane, underneath "This computer", you have a history of each session for each of your other devices. When you restart one of those other devices, you're going to see a new session for the device listed on the activity page (eventually if not right away). Each new session gets added to the bottom of the list. So, the more you restart a device, the more sessions with the same device name you're going to see in the left-hand pane of theopera://activity
page. So, it's just a per-session, per-device, tab-history page where you can look at the tab history of your devices and choose to open one or more of the tabs (one by one it seems) in the current Opera. In other words, Opera syncs tab history for all devices to the sync server where you can then access that history from all devices. There's no "open tab on device 1 causes the tab to open on all other devices" etc.
If you click the magnifying glass at the top right of Opera near the minimize button, you'll see a tab history section for your other devices. In the section for a device, tab history will be shown for all the sessions for that device.
I don't see any tab counts in my testing (unless you're talking about at https://www.sync.opera.com/tabs), and I don't see any tabs opening that I didn't manually open myself.

@burnout426 Yeh, it never used to do this however, I used to be able to see 2 devices and then each device with just the open tabs from each Opera browser. It didn't do any of this session business and its very confusing because I can't even seem to find the current session easily, it looks jumbled to me. Neither the top session or bottom is the correct one for example of the actual active session. I regularly shut down and restart my devices but this feature only gave the current active session on each device, not the entire history or sessions, it's annoying and I don't want that, make it stop! hehe.
For me my case usage is pretty simple. I work at my desk, open tabs as I need that I want to watch or read later, and my desktop machine is a HTPC, so its more convenient to then consume that content from there than at my desk sometimes. From the desktop device I just want to peak into the Laptops tabs and select which tabs to open here, it used to work well like this, now its a mess...

Okay. Thanks. Sounds like a bug then (hopefully). Opera has been informed. Will keep you updated.

@paultatarenko I agree, I am seeing the same issue where I see multiple devices of the same name duplicated and way more tabs listed then I actually have open. In the past I wouldn't see multiple duplicate devices and only see tabs I actually had open. Doing a sync reset fixed it temporary until it started happening again, so I have to assume it is a bug and hope gets fixed at some point since it is annoying.

Same issue here. One device in sync.opera.com
sync.opera.com/tabs showing 14 tab collections/duplicate lists.
Ctrl+Space Instant Search has one of these tab lists below current open tabs.
That old list has triple duplicates of all the pinned tabs. Wonderful.
Cleaning up logged Opera account sessions makes no difference.
Opera 98.0.4759.15 Win10.
