I have a problem (the tabs wont load when I start Opera) and I'd like to know how to fix it. I've posted here and I've gone to the help page. I just am wondering - am I waiting for a response from Opera to my problem - do they monitor the forums and reply - or am I waiting for a friendly user who thinks they know the solution? What if Opera aren't listening and no-one out there knows the answer? The help page just seems to be a list of how to use things - nowhere I can ask a question. Or is there an e-mail or Troubleshooting section that I've missed?

        Hi there.
Yes there's some people from Opera out there (like me) we try to check the forums whenever we got time, but we mainly base our time in the BTS (Bug Tracking System), where people report their problems that might be bugs. If you want me to help you it would be nice if you could provide some detailed information about your problem.
First of all describe your problem. What exactly is not working as it's supposed to? How should it be? What do you make the problem occur? Can you show a screenshot of the problem?
Stuff like this is very helpful.

Ah thank you, I have Windows XP. When I start up Opera all my tabs appear but they never load. I just get a spinning disc but it never actually opens the tab. Even if I open a new tab it doesn't take me to speed dial - just says 'Loading' but nothing else happens. I have to type the address into the bar which then takes me there no problem. How can I get the tabs to open again without retyping the address and how do I get to Speed dial? I've been online for over an hour and all my previous tabs are still trying to load. Thank you for any help you can give, Sue.

Might have been something wrong with your download, you should try to do a complete clean reinstall where you remove all opera folders and uninstall before reinstalling. Don't install it again from the same package you've downloaded from before, but a new one at opera.com

Ok, I haven't done anything different, maybe an automatic update has upset my XP system. Thank you for the advice.

Uninstall crap like Baidu PC Faster or other ""security"" software.

Automatic update - probably. Opera recently updated the stable version to 20. Though why that should ... I don't suppose you've enabled Sync? Only thing I can think of which would cause speed dial to load slowly is Opera trying to sync your speed dials.
