Opera does not load profile anymore

Seems that it was indeed the most likely source as we both suspected.
I tested it in my newly created user account in Windows (to be on the safe side, because it is still Beta).
How long do you think will it take until final release? But perhaps the problem is alreay fixed with the ~ .50 version you mentioned or one of the later minor updates.
What is remarkable is that Opera is now faster than before, even though 50 or so tabs are pinned and the bookmark site is fully displayed. This might perhaps because I used my most recent profile for the test, i.e. the one after letting Speedy Fox cleaning it. -

I would guess Opera Stable will hit 93 in a couple weeks. Could be a tad earlier. Could be a tad later.

tried downloading this ~ .50 version, but could not find it.
If you start Opera Stable, wait about 20 to 30 seconds and goto the URL
opera://about
, it should detect the new version and give you a chance to update to it. Or, keep repeatedly checking for updates till it picks it up. -

@burnout426
ok
btw: Opera 92.0.4561.50 update does not work for me. I can extract the file and start it from the windows folder that is created by this, but this is not like a real update installation overwriting the previous Opera version, correct? -

You downloaded the Opera_92.0.4561.50_Autoupdate_x64.exe file yourself? You can run it and it'll extract everything to the directory it's in. Then, you can run installer.exe, click "options", adjust the options how you want, make sure it's pointing to your current install where the installer has an "accept and upgrade" button, and choose "accept and upgrade", and it should update your Opera for you. But, I just meant to update via
opera://about

@burnout426 ok thanks, done; but it seems that the problem is not yet solved in this version; so I still need to wait until the 93-version is officially released
One question: I downloade the 64 Bit version, but the task manager tells me that I run the 32 Bit version. Did I make a mistake during installation? -

@sonthin2 When you go to the URL
opera://about
in Opera, does it say wow64 now? If so, you indeed have the 32-bit version for whatever reason. Not sure why if you got the right installer etc. You can uninstall Opera (while not choosing to delete your data) and reinstall etc. and play around etc. to get things how they should be. -

Maybe I did a mistake by download the false update file first. I simply repeated the update with the 64 Bit version. Now the system tells me that I'm running the 64 Bit version.
Anyway: Result is the same: Bug ist not fixed in this most recent update. So I still need to wait or check in between with every new update again. I'm sure there will be at least one minor update next week.
I will also uninstall the current Opera version once the 93er versions comes in order to start with a freshly installed new version that works again. -

@sonthin2
I just saw that in my thread before (2 days ago), that the most important message was somehow cut off for whatever reason.
So here again:
The problem ist completely solved with Opera Beta!!! So it has to be a bug or unintended side offect of November, 3rd Opera update.
Thanks for your advice.
The profile works even faster than before (which might be because I had cleaned it with speedy fox in the meantime). While I can read everything (e.g. all bookmark, settings etc.) I'm reluctant to work with a Beta version. That is why I asked you how long it would probably take for the Beta version to be finally released.
Until then, I keep trying if one of the next minor updates will perhabs already solve the problem. -

we are on November 17, 2022, I have the version 92.0.4561.61, and after the update of opera, lost a part of my bookmarks, but not all... No doubt, losses related to the update of opera, related to the update of chrom... (it was just for information to say that opera, is still not repaired)

@celebspeople1
Sorry to hear that. I hope you have a back up of your profile.
Yes, I also tried the most recent update from November, 15th and the problem is still the same. The problem is solved, however, with Opera Beta. So it seems I or we have to wait until this version is finally released.
It means a delay for me in my work (which is, however, an additional job only) as I don't add further bookmarks currenty (seems to me a little risky to simply proceed with the Beta version) while I can, of course, read all existing.
Let's see. -
