Windows10
Opera - latest downloadable version (just downloaded today 4/10/22)
I spent some time in settings, specifically choosing DuckDuckGo as my Default search engine. I've rebooted and double checked this change more than twice yet Google remains the default search engine.
How can I make my choice change work?
Thank you.

@pleaseoperaworkforme So when you do a search in address/search bar, it shows results in Google instead of in Duck Duck Go?

@leocg Yes, the google G is clear as a bell and the results are listed by google.

@pleaseoperaworkforme The same happens if you choose a different search engine as the default one?

@leocg I just tested several and reloaded pages. No change to the search engine being used = google.

@pleaseoperaworkforme That's strange. We are talking about the address bar, right? And you are not starting the search with a g followed by a space, are you?

@leocg I've never intentionally used the address bar to do a search. It is using duckduckgo. I've been referring to the search tool at the mid top of every newly opened tab (named "Speed Dial." Why isn't that changed as well?
