In this latest stable version (85.0.4341.18) it can already be disabled. Which is located in Settings / Advanced / User Interface / "Show tabs from the same domain in tab tooltip".

@daniellb The option is to disable the list of tabs from the same site. The pop-up with the page name/info can't be disabled, but it was never possible.
It was a flags option, so it absolutely was possible...not sure what you mean?

Theres a big difference between the word 'disabled' and what you've quoted there...

@leocg I'm talking about that big pop-up window that keeps showing when you hover the mouse above a tab. It's a fairly new feature. In the past, it was just a standard windows information pop-up. Small in comparison with this new one. Why can't we get back to that?
Are we talking about the same thing: - this is not very big popup IMO...

@donq Yes that pop-up. It's very annoying. In the previous versions, we were able to disable that from the flags. I don't see why that is a thing. It's useless and it causes performance issues to relatively old computers. If you have a lot of open tabs when you switch from one tab to another the performance drops and it makes the browser more unstable.

That option would turn off just the list not the entire popup thing.
Damn how exquisite you are... If that pop-up window is very small...LoL -

@daniellb It's not big, it's not that different from the original tooltip.
Its way bigger than needs be. There's three empty lines, and the web address is unnecessary, so four times the size that it should be.
Look at how Firefox do it and you'll see this is way over the top. -

To get things worst, if we use The Marvellous Suspender extension, we end up with the same list on every tab, because opera deals as they all belong to the same site.

@leocg The problem with this pop-up, and I think I will articulate this for the whole of community here -- the problem is that I did not click anything and yet the page content is covered up by browser chrome. This popup comes from the browser, not the content. And it covers up my page, without any explicit action on my part. Frequently interfering with my browsing the page, sometimes hanging around until I wiggle the touchpad, sometimes on it's own and sometimes because I used my touch-screen to close a tab -- now my screen is covered up.
This is not great.
