Bottom of Screen?

The black strip across the bottom of my screen -- sorry, don't know what it's called but it's where you see the date, time, speaker status, etc. - is suddenly much taller than ever, almost an inch tall and the icons are stacked on top of each other instead of being in a single row - how do I get back to the original way which is "skinnier?"

Since Opera for Windows doesn't have any "strip" with icons on the bottom, I wonder of what you may be talking about.

@leocg sorry - maybe this should have been a Windows question - don't know how to send a screen shot - sorry - there's a black horizontal "strip" or "bar" whatever it's called along the bottom of the screen where you see date, time., charging status etc.
