      @sgunhouse

then what do other popular browsers do?

      chrome, edge, safari.

they warned me so many time for the password leaks and i had been saved.

if opera has so much concern about their users' privacy and security that they made a inbuilt VPN and ad-track blocker then why cant they make a data leak checker?

everyone does remember to install extensions for password breach checker.

everyone does not even know to install it, and none is available on the opera addons.

so if opera can make a password manager, it shall also make a password leak checker.

@operauserx They can't make a leak checker because they'd need to ask Microsoft or Google for the data to check against. Your internet security software probably does it already anyway.

they shall do it, it worst for a password to be stolen than just for sharing data with microsoft/google

How that checking works? Do you get a warning about the possibility of passwords have been leaked in site X? Or it's something more specific?

when the password is stolen from the browser/ cloud, it detects the leak and warns the user about it. (i just dont know the exact process)

@operauserx Generally data from breaches is collected and if your name, government ID number, or username for a website appears among the data they warn you.

@operauserx And they do it before the service from where the passwords were stolen?

It may be better not to have any web browser save passwords and use an independent program if such is needed.

that will definitely slow down the browser.

i try the most to block cookies and cache to get the maximum speed.

i even try to avoid any extensions unless they are really neccesary.

if opera does not check for password breach then if my VPN is on then will my password go to the hacker in the encrypted form?? (not going to turn it on for 24/7 as things will go very slow)

a VPN encrypts your data, so everything will be encrypted.

that time the attacker steals the password, he cant used it as VPN has encrypted it.

do you think that will help?

@operauserx I don't really think that someone would try to get your passwords that way.
And nowadays, unless your are connecting to an insecure site, your connection is encrypted.
