I'm using Opera with OS Linux Mint 20.2 64bits Cinnamon interface.
In this morning my system has detect an update for Opera Browser, from version 78.nnn to 79.0.4143.22.
After the update, the whatsapp bar and youtube page stoped work.
Youtube open and after a few seconds a massage is displayed on the page like "the page has frozen" (in Brazilian portuguese).
Anyone more have experienced the same problem ?

Yes, same to me. The page keep crashing. It's so frustrating that with a problem solved (see my other thread) another one comes in. I thing it's something related to the replacement of the file libffmpeg.so that I usually overwrite for make the videos play on Opera. I've noticed that even Gmail page keep crashing, it's so odd and irritating. Someone can check if this file is responsable for the crash? Thanks

Yes, before creating the topic I updated libffmpeg.so.
          link: https://github.com/iteufel/nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt/releases/
          opera path: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/lib_extra/

Apparently, by removing the libffmpeg.so file from the /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/lib_extra/ directory, the problem did not occur again. This implies not being able to watch some youtube and whatsapp videos.

@elviolmp So, apparently, we have the guilty one... 😧
            If I delete libffmpeg.so Opera doesn't even start... 😕

              Strange behavior!
Anyway, here it's happening on my work notebook. At night, I will test it on my PC to see if the same problem will occur.

                See https://forums.opera.com/post/261968

I download the libffmpeg.so from Herecura repo
                https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64/opera-beta-ffmpeg-codecs-93.0.4577.58-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

Take a look at this two links below:
                          https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/530302-libffmpeg-so-and-Opera-browser-issue
                          https://www.ti-enxame.com/pt/opensuse/suporte-h.264-para-opera-e-opensuse/962659423/
(by the way, the second link is in portuguese and you can translate to english, if you need)

                          I hope this helps you!

Finally some solution for those annoying page crashes, thanks!
For those who use Ubuntu/Debian based distros, I created a simple deb package for myself with Opera fixes (ffmpeg, widevine/DRM), feel free to use it: https://github.com/swanux/opera_codecs
(For automatic updates you can add my PPA as described here: https://swanux.github.io/hrepo.html)

                              @alexs

                              Hello
this works via a little roundabout...
                              I went to the server
                              https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64
and searched in the directory for the right files
                              they are today, october 2nd

                              opera-beta-ffmpeg-codecs-94.0.4606.54-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

already a version ahaed as the link above....
Anyway , I learned what is a .zst file ,
Installed zstd, decompressed it to .tar and decompressed it into the famous libffmpeg.so
Copied it into the "lib_extra" directory
                              And it Works

Again a bit new learning for me in linux....
This is on Debian 11 on a intel core I3 laptop
Kind regards from F4VSJ, in Britany France

the newest link is version 94 instead of 93:

                                https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64/opera-beta-ffmpeg-codecs-94.0.4577.58-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
                                this one works
