How to get autoupdate to run

77.0.4054.277 and several earlier versions, W10
I have tried a re-install but still get no autoupdates. During re-install two tasks get entered in Task Scheduler both calling
...\appdata\local\programs\opera\launcher.exe --(etc)
but I can't tell if either runs since History tab is disabled.
So how to enable history for these tasks or better yet find a log,
and how to get autoupdate to run? -

@keepskite To trigger auto-update, go to opera://update or opera://about.

@keepskite When you open those pages, Opera should check for updates. And download and install it if there is one.
Even if you don't open any of those pages, Opera should update at some point.

@leocg That's the thing. It never updates on it's own. I always have to do it manually which means I have to remember to check frequently or I get out of date.
So how is autoupdate supposed to work? What does it need and what is the drill for finding out why it does not work? I tried a clean profile - a big PIA and still not effective. Can we confirm that it does actually work...somewhere, or am I wasting my time?

@keepskite As far as I know, Opera checks for updates on startup and, also, in regular(?) intervals.
It also checks for updates when system starts and on determined times. Check on Windows task scheduler.You have the latest version, so you will have to wait until a new release happens.
By the way, I opened Opera GX and it has updated to latest build. Regular Opera didn't update yet, will see what happens in the next days.
