Opera browser won't close after exiting?

When I attempt to close Opera, I get the start page instead. How do I disable this nonsense?

@averageguy Unlike Firefox, closing the last tab does not close the browser window. If you want to close a window, use that window's close button.

@averageguy Opera users on Windows have always hated having the browser close when closing the last tab, so Opera prevents it and does what users expect. Shame there isn't an option though to control it.

Note though that if you have more than one window open, closing the last tab in the window closes the window. Users just don't like the whole browser to close based on a tab close.
