I can't reply to existing chats, they all appear "locked"

Yes - because instead of a "reply" button there is a "locked" button. I have encountered it too when researching an issue on this Opera forum:
https://forums.opera.com/topic/12496/search-engine-keeps-switching-to-yahoo
I wanted to add my solution to this conversation but it is not possible to reply. Why is that? I am quite new to these forums, why is there a lock? Is it done by the person who started the thread or is it something else?

One of the moderators generally locks a thread, either because there seems to be nothing more to say, because the user requested it, or because the thread seems to attract posts that violate the rules (such as unrelated posts, spam, or offensive posts or swearing).

@greenkitten Just a tip: replying to a three years old topic is not a good thing to do in any forum.

Does anyone else suffer from this?Yes, I had this problem some time ago too. I had to uninstall the browser and reinstall it. The problem solved itself.

@vernagarcia If a topic is locked, reinstalling the browser will not unblock it.
