@leocg Maybe. I'm not 100% certain of that. I use Chrome and Opera. I'm not seeing the same behaviour in Chrome. Both browsers are up to date. The difference between the browsers might be in the implementation of the new Chromium behaviour.

I use a tab manager to put tabs to sleep. I really don't want the browser to force reload tabs when I switch between multiple active tabs. For me it's a matter of tab stability. I can't do my job with a browser that keeps unloading tab content whenever I change tab focus. I see and appreciate the intent behind the behaviour but I feel it is poorly executed.

Is there a way to set the timeout counter before unfocused tabs lose their content?

@leocg , can we make it formal? This behavior is terrible. Only makes things take longer. Opera programmers must listen to those complains somehow.

@mrherodoto There is a setting to avoid it, but it's not on stable version yet.

@leocg & @mrherodoto I'm no longer plagued by this bug. My version of Opera is the latest stable release. The last update to the browser fixed the fault.

@vr51 probably just a coincidence, since there is no fix for it cause it's not a bug. The "fix" is the setting to disable the feature.

@leocg you, Operan and Chrome can call it a feature as much as you want but for everyone of us who use the product as end-users it is a bug: it bugs us. Thankfully it is now a bug that is fixed, at least for me.

@vr51, I'm using the latest version for almost half a month now and it looks the same.

@leocg, I can only hope that's true. Thanks for the feedback.

@mrherodoto this is the version I'm on (see screenshot):

                          9a308d5e-1ad1-4a76-902b-4c9fecd297f6-image.png

I installed Opera with the package provided on the Opera website and not through my OS maintainer's repository. I use Kubuntu. This method of installation adds the opera repo into /etc/apt/*

Maybe my version is different to your own.
