I'm having a problem opening Opera GX on my PC. I just downloaded it, but when I click on it to open it, it doesn't. I do see about 2 frames of a window border popping up, so it could be immediately crashing. I am not sure why though. Can anyone help me sort through this?

            Your OS (Linux, Mac, Windows)
            Windows 10

            Your version of Opera
            72.0.3815.459 (GX)
            73.0.3856.284 (Base)

A screen-shot of the problem if it's related to something not showing as should
N/A, I'm not fast enough on the draw to catch the window and it's just a white square anyway

A description of the problem, including as much as information as possible
I have a fresh computer with Windows 10 and a fresh install of Opera, unused and unaltered because of this problem. My previous computer on 8.1 used GX fine.
When I open either Opera or Opera GX, the window flashes up onscreen and closes instantly. If I open more than one tab at once, it works for a few seconds, but repeatedly gives the usual popup asking if I'm sure I'd like to close with multiple tabs, then eventually goes ahead and closes anyway.
Uninstalled McAfee, disabled real-time protection and firewall on Windows Defender, ran the installer again, no success
Could this be related to Microsoft Family Features? It's giving popups and restricting me I try Chrome and Firefox

Steps to (try to) reproduce the issue
Use a fresh computer with Windows 10, download Opera or Opera GX, try to run either of them

            Expected behavior and actual one
-Opera or Opera GX remain open when executed
-Opera and Opera GX do not remain open when executed

It boots up and plays the startup animation but the browser itself will not load and I have tried every solution I could find except making a new profile and downloading which I have done but I want to know what I can copy and paste from the start and what I need to slowly check if it works.

                  Hello,
I have been using OperaGX for quite a while now but a few weeks a ago it just wouldnt start up anymore. I saw a couple of posts regarding this issue already and tried all methods that I am aware of. I have installed a lot of different versions, installed it to an external hard drive, used to updater to repair and a lot more things, but none of them worked out. I see the small Opera intro, hear the sound when you first start OperaGX, then a larger window opens (which I can only assume is the actual browser since it is completely black), which immediatly closes again right after popping up. Another weird observation I made was that my desktop icons flash up once when the window closes (just like when you press refresh on your desktop). I could really use some more help on how ti fix this issue.

                  Thanks in advance.

For about 3 weeks, Opera gx no longer wants to launch,
As said in the title, it crashes, then restarts, and then re-crashes and restarts, about 3/4 times before staying off.
I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it didn't work.
I also install Opera gx on my desktop in a folder named "Opera Test".
It does the same thing, (strat, crash, restart, re crash ...)

So I switched to Opera and is works

                        Can you help me ?

(I am French and I do not speak English very well, if you have misunderstood something please point it out to me, I will try to rephrase)

Maybe your computer is too slow for Opera GX
I would try uninstaling and deleting appdata and program data.
(just do alt + R then write appdata and open)

                                    Hello everyone.
Since yesterday, January 27, 2021, my GX browser is reporting a failure.
When I start it, it loads the Opera GX presentation and then the browser closes and opens 3 or 4 times in a row and then closes completely and does not work.
I have tried to uninstall it and cleaned any trace of my system to reinstall it cleanly and the problem persists.
When I install again and start for the first time, it works fine. But once I close it and want to reopen it, the same problem appears, making it impossible to use.
I would appreciate help in this regard.

At version 72.0.3815.487, I think it updated on the 31st January (I might be wrong). It was all working good till the afternoon of 1st February. And after that, I open it, it crashes instantly, opens itself again, and crashes again, and this goes on for like 3-4 times and then it doesn't start again. I tried reinstalling first using the reinstall option in the installer, didn't help. Then I uninstalled completely, removed all folders and reinstalled, it worked once. And then the next time booting it up again, same issue. Running as Administrator didn't help. Normal Opera is working fine.

@jonaslang123 Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I have tried a lot of stuff, changing permissions in regedit and all that sorts, nothing works. I'm having to fall back to normal Opera for now. It really is a pain in the back switching your main browser. 😕
