Yes, that is the feature I'm not talking about. It also list your recently closed tabs.

i was convinved that was a downloadable Addon no a commersial for Opera featI see it only list 20! recent closed down tabs, and thats to late by now
i lost 65 so that could never have helped anyway...unless we can change the value how many closed down tabs it will show?When people edit this types of files with text-editor, what do they use? excluded note and wordpad to extract URL's?

I solved it with a gordian knot, i made a backup of "Session_13249614278988106"
before exit the session, then i moved out all 4 destroyed session files, and just copy pasted "Session_13249614278988106" to the folder and then lett "continue where you left of" pretend this was the current sessionThis sucks...that Opera only backup the current and previous session, we need autosaving addons, and i have ateast recieved several tips from internet

@lillollo Since Chromium changed how sessions and tabs are stored, the info on that old topic is no longer valid.
I have no idea how things work now, so you will have to wait until someone figure it out and post a solution.
I guess the oldest Session_xxxxx is the equivalent to Last Session and the newest one is the equivalent to Current Session but I'm really not sure.I don't know how they work yet either, but the files are taged with timestamps (that you can convert at https://www.unixtimestamp.com/index.php for example) where I'm guessing Chromium just uses/favors the newest one.

Does anyone know where ALL app data are saved? if it is the extension folder its impossible to differe who is who
Here we have somethin that can be "Tabs Backup & Restore".....
...but the file folder "3.3.3_0" indicates its not, cause it should be Version 0.2.1 according to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tabs-backup-restore/dehocbglhkaogiljpihicakmlockmlgd
and there are no other leads inside the folder what app it is, i have two popup stopper addons and the version number does not fit any folders inside extension folder,
so it doesnt help that the folder contains a file named "popup" it can mean anything even in a program thats not related to popup blockers.On firefox certain addons like "TabSessionManager - Backup" created the session backups and placed them inside "downloads" folder in your documents
That was clearlyt what it was.There should exist a writen path-leading way on each extensions also, not just show the way to my profile
Do you think? i shall make a safe copy of the entire "extensions" folder? and hope it contains all sessions that apps saves

@lillollo If you enable developer mode in the extensions manager page, you can see the extension ID or whatever it's called and find out the extension folder more easily.
Backing up the extensions folder may help reinstalling them but not necessarily will keep the extensions settings.

Thanks. Then this folder are ID-contain "Tabs backup and restore"
However which files are the sessions? (that is what require my backup) i expect 10 of them, cause thats how many i have saved so far.
UN metadata folder i only find "verified_contents.json".....that dont sound like sepparate sessions.
I would suspect they are saved elsewhere? -

Cause the same pattern occurs with "V7 session" app, there is no trace of any session data on c:/

I taut you ment 2 different things.
As you can see there will prob not be any replies there., So basicly no one on this board know where their extenssion created session files are stored. I
Cause im pretty sure its the same results on all session extensions, theu will not find it outside the Opera folder....So is it wise to backup entire folder?

@lillollo Hi! I have the exact same problem you have had before, but I'm not entirely sure how you managed to get Opera to use the old session or tabs file.
I have an older "Session_13252910888635988" file and an older "Tabs_13252910888635968" file. Looking into it with Notepad++ I can see a lot of useless symbols but between the symbols there are actual links, so it should be the correct files. I'm just not sure how you managed to get Opera to ask "continue where you left of" to restore this last session.
Would you be so kind to explain in a bit more detail how you did it?

@levelev Okay so for everyone who stumbles upon this thread. I found a solution. It is by no means a good solution, but as a last resort it at least works.
So to get the old "Session_[number]" and "Tabs_[number]" file, I used the program "GetDataBack Pro". It is a data recovery program. In case you accidentally delete your partition or your harddrive gets corrupted somehow, it can be used to restore data. This program costs money, so be aware of that. Other data recovery programs probably also work, but I can't confirm. I already own a copy of GetDataBack Pro, so I thought I'll just try if it can find something. And indeed it found multiple older "Session_[number]" and "Tabs_[number]" files. Some weeks old and some just 1 or 2 days. I used the most recent one that still had a big file size. Unfortunately I couldn't get Opera to use this older file instead of newer ones. So I opened the "Session_[number]" file (in my case it is was called Session_13252992390325014) with Notepad++, copied the whole text with all the random symbols and pasted it into this website: https://www.convertcsv.com/url-extractor.htm and it gave me a list of all the URLs that are between those random symbols. With that list I could then use this extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/open-multiple-urls/oifijhaokejakekmnjmphonojcfkpbbh to load that list of URLs into Opera as tabs. If you do that, I would recommend to check the "Dont load tabs until selected" checkbox, to make sure Opera does not crash again from the load.
Step by step:

Go to the the URL "opera://about" in your Opera browser.

Scroll down a bit and take note of the profile path and navigate there via the windows explorer.

Find the "Sessions" folder. In there should be 4 files called:
Session_[very long number]
Session_[very long, but slightly higher number]
Tabs_[very long number]
Tabs_[very long, but slightly higher number]
You want the "Session_[number]" file with the slightly lower number. It will be the older file. -
Open that file with "Notepad++" or another text editor that can read it. There will be a lot of random symbols in it. But somewhere between these symbols are the URLs of the tabs you lost.

Copy the entire text and paste it into this website: https://www.convertcsv.com/url-extractor.htm and hit "extract". It will give you a list of the URLs it found in that text.

Take a quick look in that list and check if those are the websites you are looking for.
If those are NOT the websites you lost, you will have to use a data recovery software to get an older version of the "Session_[number]" file back.
I can confirm "GetDataBack Pro" works and it found multiple older deleted versions. Some from 1 or 2 days ago, some from 1 or 2 weeks ago. Do a deep scan and make sure to check all partitions it can find on the harddrive you selected. It also works if you are using a SSD instead of a HDD. Copy all older versions of the "Session_[number]" you can find to a save location, open and do step 5 until you think those are the websites you are looking for. -
Install this extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/open-multiple-urls/oifijhaokejakekmnjmphonojcfkpbbh and use it to open that list of URLs as new tabs. I would recommend to check the "Don't load tabs until selected" checkbox, to make sure Opera does not crash again from the load.
TIPS:
If one URL does not load or does look wrong, that could be because "convertcsv.com" thought a letter or word behind the URL in that large text file was part of this URL. It only happened a few times in hundreds of tabs for me, but it could be different for you. Try to delete the last character, or the last few characters of the URL and see if that takes you to the side you are looking for.Hope that helps someone!
If someone finds an easier solution for some of these steps, please reply.
Oh and make sure you use Sessions Buddy (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/session-buddy/edacconmaakjimmfgnblocblbcdcpbko) or a similar extension to make sure this does not happen again. -

If you have a backup of your previous Session_random_characters_here and Tabs_random_characters_here files, there's a pretty easy way to trick Opera into loading them.
- Open Opera, so that it creates new versions of those files, with new random characters at the end.
- Close Opera.
- Copy the full names of both of those new files.
- Delete the new files.
- Rename your backed-up files to their corresponding new names.
- Move your newly renamed backup files into the Sessions folder, if you had them somewhere else.
If you open Opera after this, it should load the backups and recover your session and tabs (at least it worked for me).
