Is Opera Worth Another Chance ?

I have been away from Opera for a few months because of a few perceived problems with the browser. I am a person who if they see an error message gets overly concerned.
I see from my original post about "profile error occurred" this is still happening. Does it happen to most people and if not what are they doing that others aren't ? Also theres the problem of updates which for me resulted in downloading the full offline installer on each update. Trying to update from the browsers interface results in "an error occurred" message. Assuming this is still the case does it occur with most people or just me and a few others ? Also theres the Opera browsing assistant saga, is that still going on ? Opera on my Windows 7 machines used to take about 10-15 seconds to open from clicking on the desktop but "another" browser takes about 5 seconds. Opera wasn't always like this, why can't we have a version that works as its supposed too ? -

I'm sample of one (well, Opera on three independent PCs - one older W10, two W7-s) and thereby can't tell other users experience, but I have never encountered problems you describe (except that stupid Opera Assistant, which after removal has not bothered me anymore).
Sure I have seen few other minor problems, because I'm using Opera developer version and this is supposed to be buggy sometimes - but nothing which makes me worry.Reading these forums, there are not many users, complaining about profile errors or similar, thereby I would think that such annoyances do not happen to most users.
About your troubles (except opera assistant stupidity) - I don't think they are caused by particular version of Opera, rather by something in your computer/windows configuration (this means that it is quite possible that you will get problems with newer Opera version too).
If you are interested, we can attempt to troubleshoot slow starting, profile errors etc - although nothing will guarantee that these can be solved easily.

I have the same misgivings.
Opera seems a fine product, but is sometimes incompatible with other apps. Drives me crazy until I try the app with another browser and find that all is OK. Latest problem is with ATT.Yahoo.Mail. Thought I fixed this a few days ago with an Opera tracking exclusion, but now many Yahoo functions have suddenly stopped working.
All works just fine with Firefox and Chrome.
So I think its time for me to move away from Opera. Sorry to say this.
