I just installed OperaGX, and every time i try to open it, it immediately crashes. I can see the window appear for a second before closing. Ive tried reinstalling multiple times and also running as administrator and I am completely lost as to what i should do from here.

I recently downloaded opera and I managed to open it once did a bit of looking then closed it and later tried reopening it at which the splash screen played but no browser actually opened.
I after tried redownloading it multiple times trying different things and restarting my computer. none of these worked. I have looked for people with the same problem but none that I saw got a working conclusion. I have tried turning off anti virus, downloading it on different days but the same thing keeps happening I open up task manager and there is no opera GX there. My OS is windows
not sure what it meant by version of operaPlease help I think the browser looks really nice and from when I was actually able to open it.

Lots of users (usually Opera GX specifically) get this problem. Still haven't been able to pin down the cause, but temporarily create a new user account on Windows and try Opera GX there.

The problem seemed like it began from the Widgets folder. You need to Rename or remove the Widgets folder and then open opera again. Let me know if it has worked.

@aquarigger Hi! Could you please add environmental variable like "OPERA_CRASH_EMAIL=your@mail.com"
It will be helpful to get an info from you. I suspect some crash at startup. Thanks! -

@flymah14 Hey! I have few questions regarding this problem. We are trying to solve it Do you have some AntiVirus software installed? Could you please check the installation directory. Default is c:\Program Files\Opera GX\ or c:\Program Files\Opera\ there is a file installer_prefs.json, please open it and check what value do you have of "single_profile": - true or false? Thanks in advance!

@jryc ok so I have an antivirus installed now but when I first tried to download it I didn't have it
the install path that is automatically used is C:\Users\harcs\AppData\Local\Programs and the single_profile value is false
please let me know if there is anything I can do
my computer is a dell and my os is windows
my friends have all been able to install it without a problem and I would very much like to know why it is happening to me
