      Hi Every one,
Here I want to know How the Opera VPN works? I wanted to know how I can setup a HTTPS proxy of my own and use with browser like Opera or firefox?
Also, I want Explore my exprience. I Notice that the opera browser VPN is actually a HTTPS proxy and not a real VPN, but for performance purposes - it seems to work really well.
unfortunately my ISP blocks the domains opera uses to connect to this https proxy.
does someone have experience with this? i dont need encryption, just high performance.
      Thanks

@paisleyflores As you seem to have already found out, Opera's VPN works similar to a proxy server for the browser.

@leocg Thanks for your valuable response. I just want to confirm that someone else have the experience to check that the VPN only convert the HTTP to HTTPS. It's not convert the IP of device.I check that some directory block my IP and I tried to access using Opera but can't find it.

@paisleyflores Opera's VPN works only inside the browser and the pages visited see your IP as the VPN IP and not your real one.

There are ways for a page to know your real IP even if you are using a VPN, maybe that's the case.

@paisleyflores No, your IP address also got changed by enabling operas's VPN but only for the browser. You can check your IP address after the VPN is enabled.

You can't. The VPN is in the browser, not on your host. We also don't do free advertising, so I removed your link.

If you live in a number of countries where there is national censorship, your ability to connect with a VPN may be interfered with or blocked to prevent circumvention of the censorship (particularly certain nations in the Middle East and the Orient). Some forum threads that relate to what can happen are:

                    https://forums.opera.com/post/163795 - similar thread

Or try to get https://buy.fineproxy.org/eng/ (works great with via opera)

I heard in a video from Linus Tech Tips that the Opera VPN is more of a proxy than a VPN. Apparently it has some bad publicity.

                      Hope this helps!
