Ok so i wrote an How-To to downgrade and disable update. But it seems that doesn't get approved. Anyway: disabling the updater doesn't actually disable the updater after two restarts of the browser it still just updates without asking Im offically switching what is the point of and executable flag if it doesn't work!

I don't have that problem
but my first guess would be that your antivirus (or firewall) is treating new Opera executable file as threat and checking every action, request etc. -

@popinjay01 If you want to remain a member of this forum, then it's better for you to start showing some respect to someone who are just trying to help.
I'm just trying to understand what do you call slow, if the browser is slow at a whole, if just page loading is slow, if it's maybe something else.
Well, I will not waste my time. Follow the instructions

@leocg I don't really care what you think. If you are unable to read what's posted in this forum without having the need to post self explanatory questions, then that's your problem but don't ever try and threaten me. If Opera don't fix it, then I stop using Opera, simple as that.
Or is that too difficult for you to understand too?

@leocg LOL!! You don't even work for Opera and you have the arrogance to threaten me and likely others, that they'll be banned from this forum?
I see through clowns like you every day.
You have nothing to do with Opera, so you can't help myself and others who are having this problem, so I respectfully suggest that you butt out and leave it to the big boys who actually CAN fix it.

I also had the same problem earlier for which the page loading was slow and if I clicked a link on the google search it was loading for like 5-10 seconds. But at least for now after going back and forth between version 69.0.3686.49 and 70.0.3728.106 I don't see the problem on the latest version anymore. I hope it somehow fixed itself.

Can you please follow these instructions and check if anything changes?

I'm having exactly the same problem (Windows 10, latest Opera version). If I click a link from Google result, it takes 5-30 seconds to load the page. Sometimes it just gets stuck and doesn't ever load the page. I have been using the Opera since 2001, but this bug is a deal-breaker for me.

Do a test. Download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to a folder named "Opera Test" on your desktop, set "install for" to "standalone installation", uncheck "import data from default browser", and install. Test in that Opera, but do not import anything, do not enable Opera Sync, do not install any extensions, do not enable adblocking, and do not turn on Opera's VPN?
If you still have the problem, as a test, create a new user account on Windows, log into it, do a standalone installation there, and test Opera there. The problem might be limited to your user account.
This sounds similar to the issue mentioned at https://forums.opera.com/topic/31561/solved-website-loading-lasts-lond-with-cpu-load-on-cryptsvc, but not quite the same. How old of a build of Windows 10 is everyone on? Anyone having this problem not on Windows 10?

@Minotus said in Opera slow after an update:
If I click a link from Google result, it takes 5-30 seconds to load the page
The same thing is happening to me for a few weeks now.
It happens everywhere: opening a link on a pge, opening a Speed Dial link, opening a link on a new tab.
It's really inconsistent. It doesn't happen on any other browser.

@burnout426 The hard part is that I would need to use that stripped version of Opera for few days until the loading get stucks. I use Lastpass constantly, so I would also have to start copy pasting all the usernames and passwords during that test. That means hundred of copy-pastes a day.
It is not consistent and happens pretty randomly. And like @ab-garcez said it also happens from different sources, like clicking link from whatsapp etc. I also noticed that If I close the problematic tab and re-click the link, it does not fix the issue. Sometimes waiting for few minutes can help and then the link is opening fine again...
I do not have Opera VPN enabled and Lastpass is only extension that I use. (beside the Operas own Ad-block).
