- perhaps <li> is not covered?

You could, but by default extensions are turned off on search pages. Try going to (Menu) > Extensions and enabling it on search results.

the option of disabling the dark mode for selected websites and the ability to create your own mods for specific websites would be useful

This extension sometimes doesn't work. Some websites like Google sometimes don't show up in dark mode with this addon turned on...

@leocg Thanks! That fixed the issue. Now everything is in dark mode like I wanted! Using on my 2018 Mac Mini with MacOS Mojave

Works.. but 100% broken on YouTube Studio Beta. Al it does is turn the screen dark and removes literally everything off the screen. basically.. it's a blank screen that's gone dark. It works with other sites... but not YouTube Studio, which was the whole reason I was going to use this.

Oper'a dark theme is great, but there needs to be a toggle button to disable it temporarily like the vpn, for the websites that don't support the theme.

@uddharsh: there is indeed an option like that....right click on the page and select "Exclude from dark mode". Alternatively you can enter address in extension settings

this is really strange, it works for some websites but not for google.
I installed this extension mainly if not only for google and it wont work

@WisdomFruit I wasn't referring to the extension. Instead Opera GX's browser has an inbuilt feature to force dark mode on websites, now I just wanted to know if there is a way to toggle the option for a single web page without having to disable it.

dude, there is an option in Opera preventing the access of extensions to sites with search results. You need to set that option for each individual extension.

For those who were unable to use with Google search, etc. Search for "Dark Theme for Google", it works.
