I've looked through every setting I can find. Every time I left click on a bookmark it opens in a new tab. And if I right click, the only option is to open in a new tab, or open in a new window.

      Thanks

@operasoprano OK, so I figured out I can drag and drop the bookmark onto the active tab. Far from ideal tho. Any way to create a keyboard shortcut such as Ctrl and Mouse click to open a bookmark in the active window?

        Thanks

When you say bookmark, you mean from the Bookmarks bar, from the panel, from the menu, or the Bookmark manager? I just tried a bookmark from a folder an my Bookmarks bar and it opened in this tab ...

@sgunhouse When I click on any bookmark or speed dial in the left sidebar, it opens in a new tab. Which is very strange because when I searched this forum about the issue, all I could find was a few older threads asking "how can I have a bookmark open in a new tab". Well for me, that is the only thing that happens, even when just left clicking once on any bookmark.

            Thanks

For a workaround, drag the bookmark onto the current page instead of clicking it.

@burnout426 Thanks. but as I mentioned in my second post, that's what I am doing. I want to know if opening bookmarks in a new tab is a;. normal behavior (going by sgunhouse it is not), and b; is there a way to change it?
