Today we are releasing the newest version of our browser with built-in Instagram and some further improvements. As you might know, Opera already has several built-in messengers in the sidebar, like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram and VKontakte.

          First!
3 major issues i noticed here on my linux installation

          1. The reborn address bar is now forced and it does not turn of from the relevant setting in opera://flags. Why don't you remove the flag then?
          2. For the ones that do not use compositing, that ugly black rectangle around menus is still there! It seems that my thread and the bug report from another guy were too small to be noticed by the devs
          3. Smooth scrolling was re-enabled here, although I had set it to disabled via opera://flags. Unlike the preference for the reborn address bar, this one can be disabled.

Instagram sidebar is really useful. Now it's time for Twitter.

                  • After the update my bookmarks panel was empty, I had to type something for bookmarks list appearing. After panel refreshing the bookmarks panel is empty again (it seems this bug was not fixed https://forums.opera.com/post/202592)

                  • And yes, as I predicted, the cut domains are now in 68 version (it was all the time in 67 version and now in 68 too, eternal bug)

There's a wasted space in sidebar settings, what special features?

There was Instant Search previously, you can put now 'Search in tabs' there (and add icon on the sidebar) and return the TabMenu on its proper place!

Notifications about "Personalized news" in the "sidebar" still don't work (the round icon on the "Personalized news"icon Doesn't appear)!

Synchronization still broken since Opera 67. With sync on, the browser becomes unresponsive after a few seconds and has to be closed. I managed to switch sync off during the start up, after then it works fine. But it bothers me since I use opera on all my devices and don't have my bookmarks and open tabs synchronized. Please look into it. Thank you

@georgic556: You are doing it wrong. You have to let it do its thing for a few hours once, and then it works all right. Don't close and disable, just let it do its thing.

My multiple post in Beta/Dev threads regarding the white 'flashbangs' in dark mode were ignored as it seems, and now I have the 'white' flickering start here in 68 too. Also there are white background flashes when I switch internal pages in dark mode.

Ahhhh! What have you done ?! Where do the closed tab history button?
Why eat an unnecessary search button!
How to return the button for quick access to closed tabs?

In Windows 7 in a light themethe button "search tab" (without backlight) is barely visible. In a dark theme is OK.

My proposals for changes in Opera (Google Document).

And yes, the many times reported bug regarding the 'blue' state of default [D] flags was first ignored in Dev thread, then the bug was imported to Beta thread, and now it's in Stable version.
