Use Opera back again

Hello. Years ago I used Opera daily, but since it became slow I changed my default browser to Google Chrome. Right now, because I was having problems playing videos on Chrome I tried Opera again and it turned out to be very fast and 'light'-using compared to before. I was also surprised by the possibility to pop-out videos
But on Chrome I was using "Modern new tab bar", an extension. I was looking for something like this for Opera but I don't think this is possible anymore? Is it somehow (if necessary in the developer-Opera) possible to change the speed dial tile-size, add icons to speed dials and/or make speed dial tiles square shape? It would be disappointing if I had to stick to Google Chrome because the speed dial tiles.

Icons is easy enough - or rather, images. Open the site, click on the heart icon in the address bar. Click the left and right arrows on the tile shown to see the images available (a small screenshot like old Opera, various images found on the page, and the tile that is the current default). If the images are too large you can drag them around to get the part you want. The rest I don't now about.

Snapshot of the website isn't the same as an icon in many cases...but this is it for now I guess? Can't it be customized in the developer version of Opera?

It's been told that for this new Opera, one can use Google extensions having priorly installed a special extension allowing for using Chrome extensions. Leo knows.
@leocg: is there something in your FAQ about it? :sherlock:

Just get Download Chrome Extension.
However, you should notice that this extension only allows you to install Chrome extensions on Opera without ant guarantee that it will work.
