@panion821 Sorry, I can't think of anything else that it may be. You are using Windows 10? I still use Windows 7.
Worst comes to worst--just routinely check Opera's home website once a month for updates.

yep . Now I have Opera 60.0.3255.170 but still can't check if an update is available.
"Checking for updates…" and after 10 minutes ... nothing

With both Bitdefender and Windows firewall turned off same situation

I have the same issue. No third party firewall.

I've think it has something to do with Nvidia drivers, if i uninstall the driver everithing its ok ... until Windows installs another nvidia driver again

I'm having the same problem. I also use Bitdefender.
It's been doing this for a couple of weeks.
I kept updating manually for the last 5-10 versions, but in every version "Checking for updates…" is stuck.

I think the nvidia driver is causing this, if you uninstall Bitdefender, you will not fix anything
