How to change the New Tab page?

I'm a big fan of the Momentum extension. Have been using it with Opera for years now, and the recent changes to Opera have caused it to stop working. I hear it's not possible to change the new tab page now.
Is this truly the case or is there a work around? Perhaps installing an older version of Opera?
If not, I may just move browser. I love Opera but when programs start removing features then it's not a good sign. -

@leocg Opera has removed all extensions that can change the New Tab page from the store. They seem intent on forcing people to use their speed dial.

There is a workaround to use an specific website if you are interested.
Momentum is a bunch of things, if I'm not wrong.

You can try this extension: https://github.com/Accudio/opera-new-tab-page/releases
I tried it with "Tab for a Cause" and it worked for me. I'm not sure about momentum though. Just try it.
PS: I tested it on version 60.0.3255.50747 of Opera GX. -

I would recommend enabling Chrome extensions:
https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/install-chrome-extensions/Then getting my extension from the Chrome store:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/new-tab-start-page/mjfahldkpjhcnfbbmdhpjolcjpcfhcpjI had one published in Opera store but as mentioned above, it was removed.
I even tried publishing a version that doesn't change the new tab page,
but I didn't even get a response about it being reviewed or anything.
Opera extension publishing has become a nightmare ... -

@escape75 Still works on Opera Mac. Thanks! Although the permission requested is too much.

@escape75 I did enable Chrome extensions and installing new tab extensions works perfectly fine, but it just sits there and doesn't do anything.
Warm regards,

jeremynwestNOTE: I have switched to Microsoft Edge, but still occasionally use Opera and am happy to provide help to anyone that needs it.

I gave up for now, changed all the speed dial squares, on the top line, to my single favorite web address, so I can give the new tab a quick click.

Guys, I just switched my computer from windows to mac recently, and I attempted to install Infinity New Tab Extension(a new tab extension) on opera. Someone in an Opera forum said that new tab extensions work on mac but it doesn't.
In fact, you can set up Infinity New Tab Extension in Chrome and then turn on cloud sync. This Infinity New Tab actually has a corresponding webpage to it: https://m.inftab.com/#/
Anyway, I am still trying to figure out one way to do that. I found out some probable solutions to this problem on reddit:

@jerryalexo It is a pity, I am planning to discard Edge and Chrome to switch to Opera completely because the Opera developer team has done such a splendid job in terms of detail features like the My Flow and Pinboard(Edge has its counterpart but it is not so customizable like Opera's Pinboard)

@burnout426 oh never mind, I expanded that same thread and followed your "for future reference" tip step-by-step, it worked like a charm! You're a lifesaver, thank you so much!
