To everyone out here complaining about a certain feature of the screenshot for this and that. Here's A VERY VERY VERY basic Noob workaround.

Just press the PrintScreen button on your keyboard. Then launch PowerPoint, Paste in a slide there. USE the crop function in there to take what you need. THEN right click and save the picture as ANY other types you want. You can select to save as Jpg, gif, tiff, png, bmp, wmf or an emf.

I don't get it. Why is this such a VERY complicated issue here ?

@lavaboyz Or...simply use this Windows or Mac program::

          Lightshot

          https://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html

I have given up on Snapshot in Opera until they can fix it. So I use Lightshot to take clips of anyplace on the screen, save it to where I want (the location you download it to is saved) in ANY format. Or you can print it or copy it to your clipboard.

@bbildman What problem? The only problem I see in Snapshot is you cant take an image of the whole page - only full screen.

@unionjack If you take a Snapshot that extends below the current viewing image by scrolling down with Snapshot, the resulting saved or copied image is only of the bottom of the image, the top of the whole image is often truncated (or something else happens - see image below).

As a matter of fact, here is an image I saved with Snapshot that started with the top of the Opera Forums page and downward, you can see this is not correct (this time it put the bottom of the image at the top, over the "Opera Forums Dashboard":

@bbildman Yeah I understand. I use Screengrab anyway. Never had a problem with that.

You've gotta love Mac. Just hit Cmd+Shift+4 and select what you want to grab for a screenshot. Finished. No third parties. No post editing.

@lvanhelden And "You've gotta love Microsoft Windows" also, There is indeed a simple way to do the same thing ("no third parties, no post editing" ) on a Windows machine::

3 Ways to Print Screen on Windows 7

This wikiHow teaches you how to take screenshots on Windows 7 of the entire screen or a specific window using keyboard shortcuts, and how to take a screenshot of a customized area using the Snipping Tool.

@bbildman But it still can't print the whole page - like ScreenGrab.

@unionjack Agree, just Googled ScreenGrab!, and it also looks nice. Bottom line, what started this discussion is the fact that after all this time, Snapshot still does not function correctly. Using Lightshot or ScreenGrab! more than offers a replacement in an easy manner. (What I like about LightShot is that it works outside of Opera in any application, just by holding down the function key + PrtScr. ScreenGrab!)

                        Thanks for your comments.
