I cannot figure out how to open a Private window in Opera on my Android phone (so I can take advantage of the built-in VPN). Could I get some help, please?

Tap on the tabs button at the bottom right. Then click on Private at the top right.

In case you might be in tablet mode - the button he means is in the address bar and shows the number of open tabs on it... in tablet mode that'll be on top rather than on the bottom.
