The command for "copy" in the menu when you left-click on the From address is in ui/standard_menu.ini in the program files folder under the "[Mail Address Popup Menu]" section (or "[Mail Contact Popup Menu]" if the address is in your contacts). The command is just "copy", which copies the whole thing. There is a Copy link mail address command that's used for mailto links on web pages that copies just the you@example.com part I think, but it doesn't seem to work in that header menu. I'll see if I can find something that works either in that menu or outside of that menu on the toolbar. I'll let you know.

I was mistaken. That command copies the whole mailto: link. The other command, copy email address always copies the whole thing including the name etc. just like copy does. So, there's no solution short of using copy + launching a program that fixes the value in the clipboard.

However, if you use Opera Mail in Opera 12, there's a workaround:

              You can add:

Item, "Copy just email" = Copy & Go to page, "data:text/html;charset=utf-8,%%3C!DOCTYPE%%20html%%3E%%3Chtml%%3E%%3Chead%%3E%%3Cmeta%%20charset%%3D%%22utf-8%%22%%3E%%3Cscript%%3Ewindow.addEventListener(%%22DOMContentLoaded%%22%%2Cfunction()%%7Bvar%%20t%%20%%3D%%20document.getElementById(%%22t%%22)%%3Bt.value%%20%%3D%%20t.value.replace(%%2F%%5C%%3E%%24%%2F%%2C%%20%%22%%22).replace(%%2F%%5E.*%%5C%%3C%%2F%%2C%%20%%22%%22)%%3B%%7D%%2Cfalse)%%3B%%3C%%2Fscript%%3E%%3C%%2Fhead%%3E%%3Cbody%%3E%%3Cinput%%20id%%3D%%22t%%22%%20value%%3D'%c'%%3E%%3C%%2Fbody%%3E%%3C%%2Fhtml%%3E" & delay, 100 & focus page & focus next widget & copy & close page

To [Mail Address Popup Menu] and [Mail Contact Popup Menu] and it'll do what you want.

For the standalone Opera Mail, I'm not finding a solution. "Go to page" and "Open URL in new page" commands are blocked except for the opera:/help/index.html link, which points to help/en/en.html in the program files directory. I was thinking about modifying en.html to have an input text field with an input listener that then modifies the value to use along with Opera's ini commands to paste in the field and copy etc. But, no Javascript environment runs on the page. Another reason why I like M2 inside Opera 12 better.

btw im using stand alone opera mail

                  anyway when i did change

                  [Mail Address Popup Menu]
                  Item, SI_COPY_BUTTON_TEXT = Copy

                  [Mail Contact Popup Menu]
                  Item, SI_COPY_BUTTON_TEXT = Copy

                  to

                  [Mail Address Popup Menu]
Item, SI_COPY_BUTTON_TEXT = Copy just mail

                  [Mail Contact Popup Menu]
Item, SI_COPY_BUTTON_TEXT = Copy just mail

after left clicking on mail in from field and choosing copy mail then pasting it i get "Copy just mail" text so i believe this is thing im looking for i just need proper command

or other work around for me would be if someone know where is the option that from field shows only actuall email

so thx guys im 1 step closer and i hope u can help me make next step 🙂

"Alt + p -> advanced -> Shortcuts -> Opera Standard -> edit". There you can create a new shortcut. When typing in the command field on the right for a shortcut, the autocomplete will show you a list of available commands. Maybe you'll find one that works in the ini file. I thought there was one, but in my recent testing, I couldn't find one that does what you want.

The only two that look potentially useful are "Copy link" and "Copy link mail address"...

If the address is added as a contact already, you can do this:

                        [Mail Contact Popup Menu]

Item, "Copy just address" = Edit properties & Focus next widget & select all & copy & cancel

                        to copy just the address.

I tried Copy link mail address. Couldn't get it to not crash Opera. Only place that it seems to work is on a mailto link on a web page (in Opera 12). It's what's used in the mailto link context menu, but none of the options there copy just the address.

I didn't see anything for nircmd either that can manipulate the clipboard's content.

I guess for the other popup menu, one could use add contact and just cancel after the copy.

i get around 400 emails per day so adding them to contacts isnt option to me unless there is way to automatically add new emails as contacts?

anyway wen i ctrl+p > advanced i see only notifications, fonts , keyboard and mouse

                                nothing about shortcuts

That's not needed now with the last two commands I posted above. They'll work like you want whether the address is in contacts or not. As in, it should solve your problem.
