How to customize News Feed?

Hello.
First of all, I LOVE the new look of Opera. Thank you. Still the best browser after.. I don't know, it's been over 10 years def.
I have a question about the News element in the left side of the main page. However it is called now. Is and how is it possible to manually configure the news feed that shows stories? Meaning, currently the news stories comes from.. well I don't even know, they are just there.
But a friend of mine, who I just showed Opera 1st time likes it (the new look!!), but wants to have her own selected news from certain web pages. Some of the pages didn't seem to have rss feed, some had. I haven't used rss ever before, so I don't know how the whole thing actually works.Or, is it possible with some add-on to have another button there, where she can add all the tailored news sources?
Also, it would be very pleasing to the eye, if there would be different views for the news thumbnails. At the moment they are a little bit too big. So scrolling through two pages gives you only like 10 headlines. With thousands of news out there every day, it would need faster overview.
Thank you for any help.
