Is Opera Bypassing Disabled Disabled Update Checkers?

Was checking my Opera setup and noticed that my version had been updated even though I had disabled update checking since Opera 34.

I double checked my "About Opera" page

Version: 35.0.2066.37 - Update checker is disabled

I think I did decide to update from Opera 34, but I don't think that I did as recently as the date for this version (2/2/2016).

I noticed this because Opera displayed a new version notification on an Opera Forums page I was reading.

The new current version is 35.0.2066.68. Posting this for future reference to verify if Opera is somehow circumventing update checker preferences.

Checked my version today. 35.0.2066.68.

Back to the drawing board on this.

Have you tried renaming opera_autoupdate.exe?
