I selected Duckduckgo and still I get Google

I selected duckduckgo as my default browser. Instead Opera shows my Google. If I wanted Google I would have stayed with Chrome. How do I get Opera to use duckduckgo since it is selected as the default search engine?

@desertratr So you changed the default search engine to DDG and when you do a search in address bar you get the results in Google's page?

Or you are talking about the search bar in start page, that has absolutely no relation to your default search engine choice and can't be changed but just hidden?

@leocg DDG is the default. I launch Opera and what I see is a blue page with a google search box. If I type something in the address bar then DDG starts up. I want the google search box gone, don't want to see it at all.

@desertratr settings -> browser -> startpage -> hide searchbox
