New sidebar distracting

Changes to the sidebar in the new version of Opera is annoying. Home page moved to the right. The transparency of the sidebar diminished and distracting.
Are there any settings sidebar, or the only option will be to reinstall an older version? -

@bacujiuu What changes? Did you try to unpin it?
I checked it in the first place. It's unpin.
I can't say for sure, because I do not have screenshots of the last state. But it has become more evident.
I guess that's transparency. -

@leocg I'm pretty sure that this panel is somehow changed her appearance. This browser I use long time and no visual effects did not cause inconvenience. Up to this point.
second question.
If I install an older version of Opera, and disable the update, will I be able to save the current settings? Including thumbnail bookmarks? -

@bacujiuu can you put a screenshot of how your sidebar looks currently please?
i'm on version 50.0.2762.58 as well, and there is no visual change of the sidebar. It looks identical to previous versions. I am using Opera for several years and have not noticed a visual change of sidebar on Opera 49 to 50.When you pin it, does it look like before? for me, the transparency effect, shows only when unpinned. Could it be that it simply is unpinned and nothing more?
You think you know, but you have no idea.

And finally I know the correct answer.
The problem is in the algorithm which is responsible for blurring and transparency. Very often it is not working properly. Surprisingly, this applies even to built-in images backgrounds. I spent the time and made a few examples. With the number codes for each group.
1 - standard background works well.
2 - standard background works badly.
3 - Custom background works fine.
4 - Custom background does not work well.
5 - Custom background in dark colors looks disgusting.

As you can see, the problem is real.
And I can only hope that in the next version it will be fixed.
