updates corrupt LastPass extension

I'm running 3 current versions of Opera (stable, beta, and developer) on several computers and all copies have had LastPass corrupted by the last auto update. It repairs quickly enough but one wouldn't want this to be a regular 'feature'.

Did you report it to the extension's authors? It has been a while since the extension was updated for the last time.

@f1j8b2
you might can try this...
when you repaired it, do login with the icon but this time deliberately closed the vault tab before it finishes loading.
it should fill in all passwords, just dont open vault till they fix it.. lolalso if vpn is on turn off..

I'm using LastPass in stable Opera and had several auto updates in between and it never got corrupted. Hm. Do you use any security software that might interfere with the updating or LastPass itself within Opera? Or maybe an extension conflicting with LastPass. I've seen such conflicts with uBlock quite regularly in Chrome based browsers where uBlock was filtering things within other extensions, breaking them.

@rejzor i agree with leo but lp has been known to corrupt when tap loads and marked corrupt upon clicking to access the vault
maybe send debug log to authors if they permit it (just saying..
am sorry it even happened..

@nvmjustagirl I've been using LastPass for years and never experienced corruption in Firefox. Admittedly, I'm only using it in Opera for like half a year, but it's been fine so far. Only thing that happened like twice was that I got signed out, but that could be involved with cookies or 2 step authentication...

the issue of not populating the vault / username-password list has long since been fixed. as for the asking for to save site info for sites you already have saved just uninstall lastpass and reinstalland e problem goes away.

I stumbled into this as well. I'm using Opera Beta on Linux and Mac, and since last week every browser restart results in a message telling me that the Lastpass extension may have been corrupted and needs repair.
What seems to have helped was installing version 4.3 from Chrome Store using Download Chrome Extension.

@pitkali It does indeed fail on each browser restart though the problem seems to be restricted to Windows 10. Downloading 4.3 fixed the problem on one machine but Chrome is stubbornly holding onto 4.2 on another. I'm going to get a bigger hammer.
Thanks for the pointer. That seemed to work but now it's just failing for no apparent reason and very frequently. I hope somebody from Opera is on the horn to the LastPass folks to tell them what they broke.

pretty sure it's last pass not opera, cause from time lastpass will ask to save user info for sites that are already saved and you JUST used lastpass to log into.

While all things are possible I wouldn't put any money on LastPass being the source of the problem. Updates to the stable and developer versions of Opera have cleared up the problem for those two. The performance in the beta version deteriorated to the point that it was being corrupted in less than an hour whether there was activity or not. I just turned off the beta version and all is now well.

I'm reporting the same problem. I've had to repair lastpass twice already today. And that's without any closing of Opera. Something other than launching and closing Opera seems, therefore, to be causing the corruption.

I have the same problems lately - both on Stable and Developer. LastPass works for sometime, suddenly crashes, I click "repair", it repairs itself, works for a bit, then crashes again, and so on... I've installed 4.3 from Chrome Web Store, we shall see.
