I get notices from WOW the Internet Provider when I download a torrent movie

Opera doesn't have a torrent client for its VPN to work on. Opera's VPN works only in Opera.

You should probably either install a VPN extension into Opera, or even a VPN proxy at the system level for a dedicated torrent browser to use, and download using that.

I have Opera 48 on a Windows 7 Professional 64bit platform. I want to open PDF files in my default PDF reader. I have gone in to Advanced settings and checked the box to allow this, but I still get the Download pop-up rather than opening in my reader.

It's getting quite annoying to have to download every PDF when 98% of the time, I just need to open it and read it. And, no, I don't want to open it in a web browser window.

I have tried the various work-around methods suggested online, but no joy.

Any info anyone can share as to how to simply open PDF's in my Foxit Reader? Works great on Firefox but not Opera and I really don't want to go back to Firefox.

Files will ever be downloaded. That option is to avoid using the PDF reader to display PDF files.

                I'm sorry, I don't understand.

What "option is to avoid using the PDF reader to display PDF files?"

Settings has a check box that says: "Open PDF files in the default PDF viewer application." I have the box checked but still only get the Download pop-up.

Are you saying that Opera doesn't allow me to use my local PDF Reader and I can only Download them and then open them?

The one you've enabled in Settings.

Like I said, files will always be downloaded, they can't be opened directly in a third part software. Don't know if there are any extensions that allow you to do it.

                  Yes. Opera, Chrome, etc.

                      Hi,
I want to ask, why can't I save my login username/password on uTorrent remote website in Opera Window web browser?
I tried login & logout many times still it doesn't show any sign of saving passwords let alone username but when I login with Opera Mini it immediately asks to save my login info.

                        Hi;

How do I enable third party hosting in Opera? One of the mountaineering sites I visit - Scottish Hills - has trip reports and some people use this facility instead of directly posting the photos but I just get a message saying something about enabling third party hosting in my browser. Any ideas? I've been into Opera Settings but all the recommended settings are selected...

                        Any advice gratefully accepted!

Third-party hosting is a term for using an <img> tag (or something similar) to embed a JPEG image from a third-party image-storage account into a message on a forum, an eBay ad, or whatever. I have no idea how it would be implemented within a browser...

This is how things work, you can't open a file without downloading it first. Don't know if some extension can do it.

@sgunhouse said in General Opera for Windows Question and Answer Thread:

Opera is a multi-threaded program, it can use multiple processes to speed up execution. So even with only one tab open you will see multiple "versions" running.

Thank you. I will take your advice.
